41-43 Russell Square, British Museum
Pringle Richards Sharratt Architects were appointed by the British Museum as architects and lead consultants in 2017 to undergo a feasibility study for the refurbishment of Grade II listed perimeter properties 41-43 Russell Square WC1B. The Grade II listed buildings housed various British Museum support departments.
41-43 Russell Square are part of the terrace of houses forming the western edge of Russell Square, within the Bloomsbury Conservation Area.
The brief was to carry out sensitive refurbishment works to the Grade II listed town-houses to create office accommodation to meet market expectations in the C21st. The project incorporates modern energy efficient measures while also preserving and celebrating the existing historic features and architecture of the building.
