18 Victoria Park Square

London

PRS were appointed in March 2021 to work up design proposals for the sensitive redevelopment of this very special Grade II* listed building adjacent to the Museum of Childhood in the East End of London. 18 Victoria Park Square is a very special remaining fragment of 1690’s London. Its stripped back Pre-Georgian classical architecture contributes to the character of the LB Tower Hamlet Bethnal Green Conservation Area.

A detailed significance study identified how the removal of the unsightly 1970’s projecting bay window and rear building might enhance the original 1690’s building. This, along with the sensitive restoration of the internal 1690’s buildings internal features for commercial use, may also allow the creation of six new terrace houses in a new sympathetic mixed-use development.
